Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

Face Value is a free daily game where you guess the first names of four faces. This page explains what information the game uses and where it goes. The short version: we keep as little as we can, we do not run ads, and we never sell your data.

If you play without an account

Your streaks, results and settings stay in your own browser on your own device. We never receive them. Clearing your browser data erases them.

If you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional. When you do, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. We use your first name to greet you on your profile. We do not show your email to anyone and we do not email you.

We save your game progress (your streaks, results and friends list) to your account so it follows you across devices. It is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and linked to your account ID. Only you can read it.

Friends board (optional)

If you turn on the friends board, we publish your first name, last initial and today's scores. People who have your invite code can look that up. Nobody can browse a list of players. Turning the board off removes this information.

Other services

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell or share your information for marketing.

Photos

Faces in the game come from Wikimedia Commons and are used under their free licenses. Credits are listed in the game after each drop.

Deleting your data

You can clear everything on your device by clearing your browser data. To have your account data deleted from our servers, email playfacevalue@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and we will remove it.

Kids

Face Value is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
